Swansea Deal Could Net City Cash

Last week, TFI reported that Swansea City were interested in
signing former Lincoln City midfielder Lee Frecklington
from Peterborough United. In the report, I said that I
did not think there was a sell-on clause that deal that
took Frecklington to Peterborough from Lincoln.
The good news is that I was wrong: there is a sell-on
clause, as confirmed by Imps' vice-chairman Bob Dorrian.
The clause is 17.5% of any profit.
Unfortunately, Dorrian has not disclosed how much
Frecklington joined Peterborough for, so it impossible to
predict how much money that Lincoln City will receive
should Frecklington move to Swansea. The terms of the
clause is that Lincoln will receive 17.5% above the fee
that The Imps received from Peterborough.
Dorrian is erring on the side of prudence by saying that
"we are not expecting much money". Still,
anything is better than nothing.
