Robinson
Wanted
19th December 2005
Worksop Town are currently in negotiations with Lincoln
City over extending midfielder Steve Robinson's loan at
Worksop for a third month.
Robinson's current loan deal ends after Worksop's match
against Gainsborough Trinity on January 2nd. The Imps'
midfielder has proved a popular and influential signing
during his one and half months at Worksop.
However, much thought is likely to be put into the
decision, as other factors exists making the renewal of
Robinson's loan deal less certain then his previous
second month renewal.
In January, the transfer window opens for the entire
month only. Hence, if Robinson renews his loan deal at
Worksop, he would then be forced to return to Lincoln in
early February. Although Robinson was dropped from the
Lincoln City first team after only one game - a 2-0
victory against Stockport, in which he played very well -
Imps' boss Keith Alexander maintains that Robinson has a
future at Lincoln.
If still true, then Robinson could return in February to
fight for a first team place. More likely though, is
Robinson's departure either during January or in May 2006
when his one-year contract expires.
If his loan deal is extended at Worksop, and if Robinson
has no future at Lincoln, then he would then be forced to
play reserve team football at Lincoln until May, unless
another club made a loan bid for him.
