Yeo In
Demand
19th December 2005
It seems that several League Two managers are busy
writing to Father Christmas with a wishlist of presents
that includes former Lincoln City striker Simon Yeo.
As revealed on Saturday, Imps' boss Keith Alexander has
already offered Yeo an 18-month contract. Unfortunately,
Yeo has not yet accepted this offer and is seeking
further talks with Alexander later this week.
Meanwhile, League Two rivals Oxford United have also held
talks with Yeo's advisors, with Oxford rumoured to have
offered Yeo a two-and-a-half year contract. Now, Grimsby
Town are the latest club to enter the race for Yeo's
services.
Grimsby manager Russell Slade confirmed: "I've got a
list of names that I'll be targeting over the New Year
and yes, it would be fair to say that Simon Yeo is on
that list of names."
Slade tried to sign Yeo, and several other Lincoln
players, at the end of last season but was rejected. Six
months later and Grimsby are a more attractive prospect
as they are currently second in the League Two table.
