Yeo Signs
22nd December 2005
Lincoln City have won the race to re-sign their former
striker Simon Yeo, who is a free agent.
Yeo became a free agent earlier this month, when he
decided to return to England after cutting short a
proposed three-year stay at New Zealand Knights. He
joined NZ Knights in June, but a failure to settle abroad
due to reported financial constraints meant an early
return to England.
Having become a free agent, Lincoln reportedly vied with
Grimsby, Oxford United, Stockport County and Chesterfield
for his signature. However, Grimsby's manager Russell
Slade yesterday blamed media speculation for Grimsby's
link to Yeo.
Despite signing a contract, which according to Radio
Lincolnshire is until the end of this season, Yeo cannot
complete the transfer until January 1st, when the
transfer window re-opens.
