Late Goal Denies City

7th January 2006

Lincoln City were left to rue missed chances when Wrexham grabbed a last-gasp equaliser to rob City of a well deserved victory.

The win was within Lincoln's gasp but Mark Jones drilled a shot past Alan Marriott in the 92nd minute. There was less than a minute officially remaining on the clock when Jones scored.

It was a classic away performance from Lincoln, who defended solidly before hitting a dejected Wrexham on the break. City's goal was scored by Simon Yeo in the 63rd minute, when he connected with Franny Green's cross. This was Yeo's first goal for Lincoln since returning from New Zealand.

Two match reports are available via the links, so hopefully they will portray a balanced viewpoint.
