Bury Trial
Weaver
11th January 2006
Former Lincoln City defender Simon Weaver has been handed
a trial by League Two club Bury.
Weaver, who is currently at Scarborough, was allowed to
play for Bury's reserves this afternoon. Unfortunately,
his trial did not go according to his plans, as Bury lost
2-4 to Carlisle United's reserves.
Glenn Murray scored twice for Carlisle, with Simon Grand
and Simon Hackney adding a goal apiece. Bury's goals were
scored by Stuart Barlow and trialist Kyle Nix.
Weaver joined Lincoln in May 2002 on a free transfer. He
played an important part in Lincoln's revival from the
brink of liquidation but left finally Sincil Bank in
December 2004 to join Kidderminster. Overall, he played
101 games for Lincoln, scoring 4 goals.
