Another Imp
Loaned
14th January 2006
Lincoln City, following striker Derek Asamoah's departure
on loan, have decided to send out another player for a
loan spell away from Sincil Bank.
Shane Clarke, who is a second year on the Modern
Apprentice Sporting Excellence scheme (MASE), has joined local
non-league side Stamford Town.
Clarke will make his debut for Stamford today against
Barking. On Wednesday, he played for Lincoln City's
reserves, who defeated their counterparts from Scunthorpe
by a 1-0 score line.
Stamford manager Graham Drury said: "He (Clarke)
is rated very highly by Lincoln and did ok on Wednesday.
He gets across the pitch well and will be a good
addition."
Ironically, the signing of Clarke should bolster
Stamford's midfielder, following the recall of loanee Lee
Frecklington to Lincoln City in late December. Clarke
will also play alongside ex-Imp Adam Buckley.
Meanwhile, Clarke's MASE team-mate Tom Wilkinson has joined Grantham Town on work experience.
