Reserves'
News
18th January 2006
Lincoln City's reserves were in action this afternoon,
but it was a mixed occasion for Luke Foster.
Doncaster Rovers' reserves were the opposition who
travelled to Ashby Avenue, and within ten minutes of the
match starting, they must have wished that they had
stayed at home! Two goals from Leon Mettam and Foster
gave Lincoln a 2-0 lead with just ten minutes played.
Ollie Ryan added a third for Lincoln just after the 60th
minute to make it 3-0 to Lincoln. The visitors'
frustrations gained the better of them when Richard
Offiong was dismissed for an apparent headbutt.
It became ten v ten during the closing minutes because
Foster received a red card for a second bookable offence.
This allowed Doncaster the space to create a late
consolation goal.
Included in Lincoln's side was defender Jude Stirling,
who is a trialist from Oxford United. Although Stirling
has been regularly involved in Oxford's first team this
season, he has now been told that he is free to leave the
club.
