Injury
Updates
23rd January 2006
A number of Lincoln City players are currently suffering
from long-term injuries. The Forgotten Imp can now deliver an update on
their conditions, but it is mixed news.
Lee Beevers - The Imps' defender sustained an ankle
injury during Lincoln's match on December 28th against
Grimsby and is the nearest to recovery. Beevers has
resumed training and is in contention for a recall to the
Imps' first team.
Paul Mayo - A quad injury has interrupted his
season, which occurred against Wrexham on January 7th. As
we reported at the time, the injury will keep Mayo out
for around four weeks, which means that he is a couple of
weeks away from returning to first team action.
Paul Morgan - Lincoln's captain sustained a
fractured foot in a game against Cheltenham in November.
However, he continued to play further games without
realising the seriousness of his injury. He has not
played since December 12th and is unlikely to return to
action until late February. Next week, Morgan is to
undergo another scan on his foot, to assess the damage.
Danny Bacon - One of the forgotten men at Sincil
Bank, after suffering a broken leg while on loan at
Burton in September. Ironically, Bacon had joined Burton
to gain match fitness because he was unable to force his
way into Lincoln City's first team. Since signing in May
2005 for Lincoln, he has just played 23 minutes of first
team football for The Imps. Although Bacon has returned
to training, he remains several months away from first
team contention.
