Christie
Bid Tabled?
23rd January 2006
Rochdale's bid for Kidderminster striker Iyseden Christie
appears "dead", especially as the respective
managers of Rochdale and Kidderminster are arguing! This
could leave Lincoln in pole position to land Christie,
although Imps' boss Keith Alexander has already stated
that he will not met Kidderminster's £50,000 valuation
of Christie.
Last week, Rochdale made an undisclosed offer for
Christie, but the offer was less than £50,000. Now,
Rochdale are claiming that this offer was accepted but
that Kidderminster are holding-up a deal.
Rochdale boss Steve Parkin stated: "Kidderminster
haven't got back to us, despite agreeing a fee."
However, Kidderminster manager Mark Yates has rejected
this version of events and states that the "deal is
dead".
Yates replied: "On Thursday, I was told that if I
didn't get back to them about their offer for Iyseden an
hour or so later, then the deal was dead.
"I wasn't happy with what was offered, so I didn't
get back to them."
Over the weekend, Alexander revealed that he has tabled
cash offers for a couple of unnamed players. One of these
is believed to be Christie, as Alexander has spent
several seasons chasing the striker.
