Lincoln City FC defender Jeff Hughes is celebrating after
being named in Northern Ireland's Under-21 squad.
The squad for two forthcoming friendly matches against
Israel's Under-21 side was named yesterday. Both games
are in Israel, with the first taking place on February
6th and the second on February 8th.
This is the first time that Hughes has been named in an
under-21 squad and is reward for his recent first team
performances for Lincoln.
Northern
Ireland Under-21 squad:
Goalkeepers: Michael McGovern (Celtic), Paul Willis
(Liverpool);
Defenders: Kris Lindsay (Larne), Sean Ward
(Glentoran), Aaron Callaghan (Limavady United), Rory
McArdle (Sheffield Wednesday), Kyle McVey (Coleraine), Jeff
Hughes (Lincoln City), Emmet Friars (Notts County), Mark
McCrystal (Derry City).
Midfielders: Brian Gilfillan (Stranraer), Sammy
