The reserves of Lincoln City and Grimsby Town shared six
goals in yesterday's thrilling reserve game at Ashby
Avenue.
The match featured trailists for both sides, with Lincoln
giving a trial to Eastwood Town's striker Adie Francis.
He made sure that he gave a performance to remember, by
scoring a 30-yard goal.
Lincoln had taken the lead in the 40th minute via a goal
from Ollie Ryan. However, Grimsby levelled a minute later
through Danny North.
Soon after the second half commenced, Gary Birch scored
direct from a free-kick to give Lincoln a 2-1 lead.
Unfortunately, a mix-up between Lee Beevers and
goalkeeper Ayden Duffy gifted Grimsby the equaliser.
Jermaine Palmer made it 3-2 to Grimsby via a penalty
after Lee Frecklington was penalised for a foul. It took
the wonder strike from Francis to level matters for City.
Grimsby finished the match with ten players after Glen
Downey was dismissed for a foul on Marvin Robinson.
