Carlisle
Match In Doubt
28th February 2006
Lincoln City's match at Carlisle United on Saturday could
become a casualty to the weather, as temperatures plunge.
Carlisle are eager for the promotion battle to take place
but the warning is of extremely cold temperatures on
Friday. A Met Office spokesman has predicted that
temperatures could plummet as low as -10 °C.
A Met office forecast stated: "Lows of -10C are
perfectly possible and it is very possible you will see
snow at some point during the week.
Carlisle United have responded by stating that they are
putting extra precautions in place. Pitch coverings will
protect against frost but Operations Manager George
Thompson has stated that they will monitor the situation
as the week progresses.
If the game does go ahead, then Lincoln City's travelling
supporters are warned to warp up warm against the
freezing temperatures.
