Frozen Out
At Carlisle
3rd March 2006
Lincoln City's match against Carlisle United, which was
scheduled for tomorrow, i.e. Saturday 4th March, has been
postponed.
Throughout the week, The Forgotten Imp has been keeping its readers
informed of the prospect that this match was likely to
fall victim to the weather.
Despite Carlisle's best efforts to prevent the playing
surface from succumbing to frost, that is precisely what
has happened. A pitch inspection took place this
afternoon, which revealed a frozen pitch. With
temperatures set to plummet to -10°c tonight in Cumbria,
it was deemed better to call the match off.
A considerable number of Lincoln City supporters were
planning to travel to Carlisle, so many will give thanks
to Carlisle United for making such an early decision.
