Ex-Charlton
Trainee Plays At Hull
30th March 2006
Former Charlton Athletic striker Kim Grant played for
Lincoln City's reserves last night, when The Imps took on
Hull City.
The match, played at North Ferriby United's ground, ended
as a 2-2 draw although Lincoln were seconds away from
victory.
Hull took the lead in the first half through Nathan Hotte
but Lincoln scored two second half goals to make it 2-1.
The first of Lincoln's goals was scored by Grant, while
the second came from youngster Andy Toyne. However, Hull
produced a late equaliser when Robbie Stockdale's 25-yard
shot ended up in the back of the net for 2-2.
Lincoln fielded a relatively inexperienced side but among
these players were new signing Jamie Sherlock and Danny
Bacon, who continues his comeback from a broken leg.
The majority of the interest is in the fielding of Grant,
who began his career as a trainee at Charlton Athletic in
1991. Now 33-years-old, Grant was last heard of playing
for Conference club Gravesend and Northfleet, but his
last match for Gravesend was on October 29th 2005.
Grant's 15-year career has also included spells at Luton
Town, Millwall, Notts County, Lommel, Scunthorpe United
and Yeovil Town.
