Winger
Joins Ilkeston
30th March 2006
One of Lincoln City's youth team players has joined
Ilkeston Town on work experience.
The deal to take Imps' winger Owayne Warlow to Ilkeston
was completed before last week's loan transfer deadline.
The terms of the deal are that 18-year-old Warlow is
available to play in any of Ilkeston's remaining matches
this season, should he be selected.
Ilkeston manager Nigel Jemson enthused: "He (Warlow)
plays down the left side. By all reports, he is very
quick and can cause lots of problems."
Lincoln City have strong ties with Ilkeston Town, not
least because current Imps' boss Keith Alexander enjoyed
several years as Ilkeston manager before joining
Northwich Victoria.
Since Alexander's departure from Ilkeston, they have
employed former Imps' player-manager Phil Stant - whose
autobiography is available here at a heavily discounted price
- and Jemson, who is a former Imps' trainee, as their
managers.
