Darlington
Affect Imps' Leave Roster Again!
3rd April 2006
Darlington have forced Lincoln City FC's leave roster to
be rewritten, for the second time this season!
On December 31st 2005, Lincoln threw away a 2-0 lead
against ten-men Darlington to drew 2-2 at Sincil Bank.
Two days later, Imps' manager Keith Alexander and his
assistant-manager Gary Simpson were placed on unexpected
leave by Lincoln City's board of directors. Alexander
later returned to the club, although Simpson left by
mutual consent.
Now, Darlington have forced the cancellation of all leave
for Lincoln City's players. This is Alexander's response
to Lincoln's 4-2 defeat at Darlington, which occurred
last Saturday.
Alexander confirmed: "I've told the players that
there will be no days off until they get it right. It's
as simple as that!
"Before (the Darlington match), we had
seven games left, and I said that we needed to win four,
but now we've got six left and we've got to win
five."
Lincoln's final six matches of the season are mostly
played in April, with fixtures at Wycombe Wanderers (Apr
17th) and Shrewsbury Town (Apr 29th) plus home matches
against Mansfield Town (Apr 8th), Bury (Apr 15th) and
Leyton Orient (Apr 22nd).
The Imps' final league match of the season is at Sincil
Bank on May 6th, when they entertain Rochdale.
