Winger To
Turn Professional
12th April 2006
One of Lincoln City's youth team players has agreed to
turn professional, according to a former Imps' player.
Ex-Imps' defender Jason Perry has given an interview
about his current role in football. During this
interview, he has revealed that Imps' youth team winger
Owain Warlow has signed professional terms for next
season.
It is already public knowledge that nine of the current
Imps' youth team players have been offered professional
contracts for next season.
Warlow is an 18-year-old left sided winger from Treforest
in Wales. He has recently spent time on work experience
at Ilkeston Town, who are managed by former Imps'
trialist Nigel Jemson.
Jemson, at the time of Warlow's signing enthused:
"By all reports, he (Warlow) is very quick
and can cause lots of problems."
Meanwhile, Perry has recently retired from playing
football but remains in the game, as the Football in the
Community Officer at Welsh club Bridgend County.
Perry's time at Sincil Bank was brief, as he stayed just
six months between June to December 1998. During this
time, he made 15 appearances for Lincoln City but failed
to score.
He was most successful at Cardiff City, who were his
first club, where he made over 300 appearances during a
ten year period. Perry also played league football for
Bristol Rovers and Hull City.
