Bleak
Injury News
13th April 2006
Lincoln City have been dealt some bleak injury news as it
has been revealed that Paul Morgan has suffered a
setback.
Morgan broke a bone in his foot during a match at
Cheltenham in November. Unfortunately, the seriousness of
his injury was not initially diagnosed, so he played
several further matches as he battled through the pain.
Eventually, he could no longer play through the pain, and
he was then set to see a specialist. An x-ray followed,
which showed the broken bone.
It had been hoped that Morgan would recover before the
season's ended. Indeed, that appeared the case last month
when he played in a reserve team match. Alas, Morgan has
now suffered an unidentified setback and his return date
remains unknown.
To exasperate Lincoln's defensive injury troubles,
Morgan's central defender team-mate Gareth McAuley is
also injured. His season was abruptly halted last month
because of a suspected hernia. However, a hernia was
later downgraded to a stomach strain but once again,
there is no set return date.
Imps' boss Keith Alexander confirmed: "At the
moment, there seems to be no sign of them coming back,
which is not ideal."
