Peterborough Take It To May 6th

25th April 2006

Last week's League Two results have ensured that the play-off qualification places will not be finalised until the final day of the season, which is May 6th.

Three days ago, Lincoln secured a valuable point when they drew with automatic promotion hopefuls Leyton Orient. Meanwhile, Peterborough United - whose manager quit an hour before kick-off - came from behind to secure a 3-2 victory over Macclesfield Town.

These results means that Lincoln remain in seventh place - the top three teams win automatic promotion while the next four take part in the play-offs. However, The Imps are only clear of Peterborough on goals scored as both clubs currently have an identical goal difference.

Even if one of the two clubs loses their next fixture, then they will not lose hope of reversing the placings until 4.45pm on May 6th when the final day's results are known.
