Hull Go
Scouting At Shrewsbury
29th April 2006
Colin Murphy, the assistant-manager of Championship club
Hull City is an interested spectator for Lincoln City's
match at Shrewsbury, which takes place this afternoon.
Murphy is a popular former Lincoln City manager, but
today, it appears that his presence is more than a
passing interest in his former club. Although Murphy
refused to confirm, it is believed that he is scouting
for Hull City.
Should this prove correct then the two most obvious
players that Murphy will specifically watch are
Shrewsbury goalkeeper Joe Hart and Lincoln's defender
Gareth McAuley.
Both players were last week named in the PFA's League Two
Team of the Season. Ironically, both could have been
playing on the same side today had Crewe Alexandra's
interest in both players materialised into firm signings.
McAuley, who is a Northern Ireland international, is out
of contract at Lincoln in June. A whole of host of clubs
has been linked to him, including Sunderland and
Leicester City. Meanwhile, Hart is reportedly rated at
£1 million by Shrewsbury Town.
