Bloomer Set
For Cambridge Talks
23rd May 2006
Matt Bloomer is set to hold talks with Conference club
Cambridge United within the next few days.
Last week, Bloomer was one of six players released by
Lincoln City, although they remain under contract for a
further month. This means that Bloomer has some thinking
time before his final paycheque, but he will be eager to
sort out his future before the market is flooded by free
agents on July 1st.
A move for Bloomer to Cambridge has been a distinct
possibility for several months now. This was especially
evident as Cambridge took Bloomer on loan in March. As
soon as Bloomer had signed, Cambridge manager Rob Newman
was stating that he would like to sign him permanently.
Bloomer became a popular player with Cambridge United's
supporters during his eight game loan spell. However, he
later returned to Lincoln where he made one further
appearance for The Imps.
Overall, Bloomer made 110 appearances for Lincoln and
scored 4 goals.
