Yeo To Join
Stockport?
31st May 2006
Lincoln City's supporters are bracing themselves for a
further blow, as Simon Yeo could leave The Imps.
Earlier this month, Yeo was offered a new contract along
with three others. According to reports in the media,
this new offer means a reduction in his current wages.
Unsurprisingly, Yeo is reported to have rejected this
offer but is set to hold further talks with Lincoln City
FC.
Meanwhile, Stockport County have confirmed that they
could make an approach for Yeo. Stockport's manager Jim
Gannon is considering talks with the striker after Yeo's
agent contacted them about a transfer.
Gannon confirmed: "Simons agent has been in
contact with us.
"I am after another attacker, but Simon is 33 now so
we will have to decide whether we wish to pursue
anything."
Yeo was born in Hyde and could favour a return to the
Greater Manchester area.
Yeo left Lincoln last summer to sign a three-year
contract with New Zealand Knights to play in the
inaugural Australian League. However, he returned to
England after less than six months away and was signed on
a six-month contract by Lincoln City, where he helped The
Imps to reach the League Two play-offs for the fourth
consecutive season.
