Yeo Is On
Peterborough's List
1st June 2006
Former Lincoln City manager Keith Alexander has admitted
that he wants Simon Yeo to join him at Peterborough
United.
Yesterday, we reported that Stockport County were
considering whether to make an approach to Yeo after his
agent contacted them about a move. Now, Lincoln face a
bigger threat from Peterborough, who are definitely going
to speak to Yeo.
Presently, Yeo is out of contract at Lincoln, and has
turned down a new contract after Lincoln offered him a
reduction in his wages. He is set for further talks with
Lincoln City about a new contract offer but is free to
speak to other clubs.
Meanwhile, Alexander has confirmed: "I am interested
in signing Simon. He's a goalscorer and has consistently
proved that at this level."
Yeo left Lincoln last summer to sign a three-year
contract with New Zealand Knights to play in the
inaugural Australian League. However, he returned to
England after less than six months away and was signed on
a six-month contract by Lincoln City, where he helped The
Imps to reach the League Two play-offs for the fourth
consecutive season.
