Imps Too
Slow For Doncaster's Ricky?
3rd June 2006
Lincoln City are reportedly keen to sign Doncaster
Rovers' midfielder Ricky Ravenhill, according to reports
in Doncaster. Although the departure of Keith Alexander
could mean that Lincoln are no longer interested,
irrespective of this latest development.
However, should Lincoln remain interested then The Imps
are now behind in the race to sign the 25-year-old, who
has been made available for transfer by Doncaster.
Rotherham United have taken the lead in the race by
brooking a deal with Doncaster. The Yorkshire Post have
stated that Ravenhill is now considering terms from
Rotherham.
Boston United are another club who are keen to sign
Ravenhill, and it is reported that they have also made a
bid. Others with Ravenhill on their wanted list include
Chester City and Scunthorpe United.
Ravenhill is described as a strong tackling and
hardworking midfielder. However, he has struggled to hold
down a regular first team place at Doncaster with 59 of
his 159 appearances coming as a substitute.
Doncaster are currently in the midst of a squad overhaul,
having told a number of players that they have no future
at the club.
