Peterborough
In For Oldham's Butcher
9th June 2006
Yesterday, we reported how Oldham Athletic had revealed
that there was "strong" interest in their
midfielder Richard Butcher. However, Oldham chose not to
name the clubs who are interested in Butcher.
Last month, Butcher stated that he would consider a
return to Lincoln City. Unfortunately for those Lincoln
City's fans who wanted to see Butcher return, it seems
likely that he will now join Peterborough United instead
- Peterborough are of course managed by ex-Imps' boss
Keith Alexander.
Late yesterday, Oldham's manager John Sheridan confirmed
that Butcher is set to join Peterborough.
Sheridan said: "The deal is more or less done and
dusted. Peterborough have come in for him and the matter
is 90% sorted out."
