The countdown to the 2006/07 season officially begins
this week, when the new season's fixtures are released.
The date for your diary is Thursday 22nd June, when
football fans around the country find out their plans for
the following ten months.
Lincoln's new management team of John Deehan and John
Schofield will no doubt be hoping for a home fixture on
the opening day of the season. However, they are likely
to be disappointed as Lincoln started last season with a
home match against Northampton Town. Therefore it should
alternate to an opening away fixture, meaning that
Lincoln will play their second and third matches of the
2006/07 season at home.
Football has a habit of introducing ironic twist of
fates; so what are the chances of Peterborough United
hosting Lincoln City in the first match of the season? We
will find out on Thursday!
