First
Pre-season Friendly Is Tonight
11th July 2006
The 2006/07 pre-season preparations begin in earnest
tonight, when Lincoln City FC play their first pre-season
friendly.
The match takes place at local non-league club Stamford
AFC, who could prove difficult opposition. Last Saturday,
Stamford claimed a shock 1-0 victory over Keith
Alexander's Peterborough United. This match also included
Peterborough's Trevor Benjamin missing a penalty - [he
obviously needs to read how to take the perfect penalty!]
John Schofield, who is Lincoln City's new Head Coach,
intends to give all fit members of The Imps' squad a run
out tonight. Most likely, this means that Schofield will
field two sets of players per half, although this is
unconfirmed.
Also expected to play is former Manchester City
midfielder Lee Crooks, who is currently training with
Lincoln City. Should Crooks impress, then he should
shortly find himself offered a deal to become Lincoln
City second summer signing, following the expected
completion of Adie Moses' free transfer, later today.
