Gordon
Waits On Cambridge
24th July 2006
Former Lincoln City FC left-back Chris Gordon is keeping
his fingers crossed that he will soon have a new club.
Gordon was one of six players released by Lincoln City at
the end of last season. Now, he has linked up with
Conference club Cambridge United in the hope of securing
a permanent deal.
The good news is that Gordon has impressed United manager
Rob Newman. The bad news is that Cambridge might not have
the money to fund a permanent contract for Gordon.
Newman confirmed: "Chris has done very well, but
there comes a time when I have to sit down and speak with
him and also the board to see if we can afford him."
Should Gordon sign for Cambridge then he will link up
with Matt Bloomer, who was also released by Lincoln at
the end of last season.
Gordon failed to make a first team appearance for Lincoln
City last season, which was his first and only season as
a professional at the club.
