Liverpool Name Squad

16th August 2006

Tonight, Lincoln City entertain Liverpool in a friendly match at Sincil Bank.

The friendly is part of the deal, worth a reported £750,000, that took Imps' youth team defender Jack Hobbs to Liverpool in August 2005.

Already, the pre-match excitement is building as Liverpool have named their squad for tonight's match. Included are Robbie Fowler, Neil Mellor and Stephen Warnock, who are all using this match to gain their match fitness following injury.

Ironically, the Lincoln City supporters will see more of Jack Hobbs tonight than they ever did when he was a Lincoln City player. Despite holding the Lincoln City FC record for the youngest ever player to make his Football League debut for The Imps, he played just three minutes of first team action. These three minutes were as a substitute during Lincoln City's 1-1 home draw with Bristol Rovers on January 15th 2005.
