In-Form
Rochdale Visit
19th October 2006
Lincoln City face a tricky match at home to Rochdale on
Saturday afternoon.
Based on league placings, this match should end in a home
victory. However, Rochdale's placing of 12th in the
League Two table does not reflect their recent good form.
Currently, Rochdale have lost just once in their past
eleven league and cup matches. Their only defeat since
August was a 2-0 home loss to Wycombe Wanderers on
September 16th.
The main problem with Rochdale this season, is their
inability to win matches, as six of these eleven matches
have ended as a draw. Alas, the bad news for Lincoln City
is that Rochdale have won three consecutive away matches,
scoring ten goals in the process.
One player to watch out for is Chris Dagnall, who has
scored six goals this season. Unfortunately for Rochdale,
Dagnall's team-mates have not found scoring particularly
easy this season! With that in mind, Rochdale manager
Steve Parkin is hopeful of securing a striker on loan.
Rochdale have injury doubts over Mark Jackson and Gary
Bowen. Meanwhile, Lincoln City could have goalkeeper Alan
Marriott absent after he sustained an injured ankle
during Lincoln's midweek match against Grimsby Town.
Imps' Head Coach John Schofield will recall the players
who were rested for the Grimsby match. In addition,
central defenders Paul Morgan and Adie Moses will face
fitness tests ahead of the match.
These two clubs first met at Rochdale on February 4th
1922 when a Division 3 North fixture ended as 2-0 victory
to Lincoln. The return fixture at Sincil Bank took place
a week later, with Rochdale winning 2-1. Please click here for a full historical round-up
of the results between these two clubs.
