Round-up (16/12)
Lincoln
City 2 Grimsby Town 0
16th December 2006
Ryan Semple, who is currently on loan at Chester City
from Lincoln City, has given an interview to a local
Chester newspaper. In his interview, he talks about life
at Chester and his future plans. Click here to read the interview in full.
Meanwhile, one player who has already left Lincoln City
FC is defender Tom Kemp, who departed The Imps in
November by mutual consent. He has now joined Conference
club Tamworth after completing his transfer on Friday.
Saturday saw the return of former Imps' boss Alan Buckley
to Sincil Bank. Buckley, who is now in charge of Grimsby
Town for his third spell, was making his first return to
Sincil Bank. It proved an unhappy experience as Lincoln
City ran out 2-0 winners.
The first goal was scored in the 44th minute when Lee
Frecklington's corner was flicked by Paul Morgan to Jamie
Forrester. He in turn sent a right-foot shot into the net
for 1-0 to Lincoln.
Grimsby were reduced to ten men in the 64th minute when
their striker Gary Jones was dismissed for a foul on Nat
Brown. Nine minutes later, Frecklington ensured Lincoln's
victory when he benefited from Martin Gritton's header
before firing the ball into the net. Overall, this was a
deserved win for Lincoln City, who enjoyed majority of
the possession.
