News Round-up (31/12)

31st December 2006

Lincoln City FC's 2006 has ended in mix way, although the news is mainly positive.

The one negative is that loanee Nicky Eaden has probably played his last game for Lincoln City, as his parent club Nottingham Forest have recalled him. Eaden and Lincoln City FC had been hopeful of securing a deal with Forest that would have seen Eaden stay at Sincil Bank.

Forest though have been more accommodating in regard to another player: Spencer Weir-Daley. The young Nottingham Forest striker has joined The Imps on a three month loan deal, which commences from January 1st, which means that he could make his Imps' debut at Macclesfield.

The transfer window could be a busy time for Lincoln City, who are also in talks to extend the loan deals of Matt Birley and Shane Nicholson from Birmingham City and Chesterfield respectively.

Both players were named as substitutes for Lincoln City in The Imps' excellent 1-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday. The only goal came midway through the second half; a superbly created chance that was well finished by Jeff Hughes.
