News Round-up (22/4)

22nd April 2007

Lincoln City FC's annual stutter towards the play-offs continued yesterday when they drew 0-0 at Bristol Rovers.

Although Lincoln failed to score, it was a much improved performance compared to their shocking defeat against Wrexham a week earlier. In fact, had luck been on Lincoln's side, this match could have ended as a 3-0 victory for The Imps, as they hit the post on three separate occasions.

Since The Forgotten Imp was last updated there has been some activity that has seen one player staying, one going and one gone! The player staying is Junior Mendes, who has extended his loan from Notts County until the end of the season.

The player going is Imps' captain Paul Morgan, who has submitted a transfer request for "personal reasons". As yet, there has been no formal interest in Morgan but is widely expected that he will leave during the summer.

Finally, the player who has gone is midfielder Jamie Sherlock, who has departed Sincil Bank by mutual consent. Sherlock joined Lincoln just over a year ago but failed to make a first team appearance for The Imps.
