Lincoln City missed the chance to confirm their play-off place when they could only manage a 0-0 draw this afternoon for the second consecutive Saturday.

This week's opponents were county rivals Grimsby Town, with the game played at Grimsby. In a predictably tight contest, neither side could create any clear-cut chances, as defences dominated.

Meanwhile, there was a celebration on Tuesday evening when Lincoln City's reserves won the Pontins' League cup against Hartlepool United. The hero of the evening was Imps' goalkeeper - and man of the match - Robert Olejnik, who made several saves to keep the full-time score at 1-1. The match then went to penalties, which Lincoln City won 7-6. The winning penalty was scored by Olejnik, who is currently on loan at Lincoln from Aston Villa.

Later in the week, Olejnik was one of two players who expressed their interest in joining Lincoln City for next season. The other is Olejnik's fellow loanee Junior Mendes, who is currently at Sincil Bank from Notts County.
