Hughes Set For Crystal Palace?
24th June 2007
It seems increasingly likely that Jeff Hughes has played
his last game for that Lincoln City FC, after Crystal
Palace admitted that talks were at an "advanced
stage".
Palace Chairman Simon Jordon told today's Sunday Observer
that: "We are in discussions with Lincoln and they
are at an advanced stage. There is haggling involved in
every deal."
Last week, Palace had an opening bid of £200,000 for
Hughes rejected by Lincoln City, who want around
£500,000 for the Northern Ireland international. Lincoln
remain in a strong negotiation position as both Coventry
City and Sheffield United have also been strongly linked
with a bid for Hughes.
