Transfer News Round-up
23rd November 2007
Transfer news round-up: actually, there is no transfer
news!
Sadly, the transfer deadline for loan deals expired
yesterday (Thursday) without Lincoln City bringing in any
new players. According to Imps' manager Peter Jackson:
this was not for the want of trying. However, the
experienced players that he wished to sign refused a move
because Lincoln are currently bottom of League Two.
So where does that leave us?
Basically, with the same squad that started the season,
i.e. the same players who have got us into this mess!
Happily, the squad is much better than their league
position suggests. However, the old adage of "too
good to go down" could soon apply to Lincoln unless
some of their players start believing in themselves. They
must also cut out the individual errors that is costing
them points as demonstrated last week at Wycombe
Wanderers when The Imps were reduced to ten men. Had all
eleven been playing then there were signs that Lincoln
could have claimed a point at promotion chasing Wycombe.
Jackson also have various youth team players to call
upon, which he will have to as injuries take their toll
on senior players. Thankfully, both Jamie Forrester and
Dany N'Guessan are back in contention following injury.
Unfortunately, both Nat Brown and Mark Stallard are still
some time away from recovery, which should mean that
youth teamer Danny Hone continues his involvement with
the first team.
Next up is a vital six-pointer against Notts County on
Saturday.
Up the Imps!!
