Lincoln City FC's hopes of signing Mansfield Town striker
Michael Boulding may be dashed after the striker
expressed a desire to play football at a level higher
than League Two.
Speaking to the Grimsby Telegraph, Boulding revealed:
"I think I could play a lot higher than I have been
doing this season. I have played at Championship level
before and I think I am a better player now than I was
then."
Boulding is believed to be on Imps' manager Peter
Jackson's wishlist for next season. However, he faces
competition from at least Grimsby Town and Bradford City.
During the 2007/08 season, Boulding scored 25 goals in 47
league and cup appearances in what was one of the few
bright spots in Mansfield's season. He began his career
at Mansfield before progressing to Aston Villa and
Sheffield United among others.
