N'Guessan To Definitely Leave Lincoln
13th May 2009
In a follow-up to our story about Dany N'Guessan
reportedly joining Leicester City, we can now confirm
that part of the story at least, is correct.
N'Guessan will definitely leave Lincoln City FC next
month as today, the club confirmed that he has rejected
the offer of a new contract. Lincoln City have now given
N'Guessan permission to speak to other clubs as he is
free to leave under the Bosman Ruling.
Luckily, he is under the age of 24 and combine this will
Lincoln's offer to N'Guessan of a contract of higher
value than his current one means that Lincoln will
receive compensation for him. The process now is that
N'Guessan's agent will speak to potential suitors about
the Frenchman joining them; N'Guessan will then negotiate
terms and accept a deal at a new club.
Next, this club will have to speak to Lincoln City FC to
table a bid for N'Guessan. Lincoln are entitled to reject
this or any other bid for him; should that happen then
the two clubs will go to a Football League tribunal who
will assess the evidence before setting the transfer fee.
If Leicester have won the race to sign N'Guessan then
they will have beaten off competition from Doncaster
Rovers, Ipswich Town, Leeds United, MK Dons, Nottingham
Forest, Reading, Sheffield United and Sheffield
Wednesday. However, Lincoln City have also stated that
they have not yet received any offers for N'Guessan.
