Butcher To Lincoln Or Rotherham?

Former Lincoln City fans' favourite Richard Butcher is in demand, not least from his former club!

Imps' boss Peter Jackson has revealed that he would like to sign Butcher if possible, as part of his team rebuilding plans. However, as TFI understands, The Imps face competition from a couple of clubs including League Two rivals Rotherham United.

Yesterday, Jackson told Radio Lincolnshire: "I'm bound to be linked with Butcher, he was a real fans' favourite here. I've been linked with lots of players, a lot of it's absolute nonsense, some of it's true. So is it true? Maybe."

Should Jackson succeed with his plans to sign Butcher then this would see the popular midfielder return for his third spell at Sincil Bank. Butcher is currently a free agent having been released earlier this month by Notts County.
