Oldham Sign Imps' Target?

If you believe rumours then today saw the first disappointment of the summer for Lincoln City FC manager Peter Jackson who saw one of his targets sign for another club.

The player in question is central midfielder Jon Worthington, who today has signed for League One club Oldham Athletic.

There had been a rumour around Lincoln that Worthington was wanted by Jackson, although this was never substantiated; the link being that Jackson managed Worthington at Huddersfield during Worthington's ten years at the West Yorkshire club.

Worthington was a regular in the Huddersfield team until he fell out of favour with new Town manager Lee Clark. This ultimately led to Worthington being released by Huddersfield; immediately, he was linked to Lincoln City.
