Adie Moses Joins Gainsborough

b1

29th May 2009

Former Lincoln City defender Adie Moses has returned to the county to sign for Conference North club Gainsborough Trinity.

Moses joined Lincoln in summer 2006 after being released by Crewe Alexandra. Despite suffering with injuries during his Crewe days Moses was an instant hit at Lincoln thanks to a debut goal. Unfortunately, he was latter dropped before falling out of favour with Lincoln's new manager Peter Jackson. In total Moses made 55 appearances for Lincoln between July 2006 - June 2008.

After leaving Lincoln, Moses opted to continue playing despite undertaking a journalism course, and chose to join Conference club Mansfield Town in July 2008. He was named as Mansfield captain for the 2008-09 season but a greater honour would be bestowed on him when he and fellow ex-Imp Mark Stallard were named as caretaker managers in December 2008. However, the appointment was brief as a new manager was given the post over them; in early May 2009, both Moses and Stallard were told that they were free to leave Mansfield.

Gainsborough have also signed James Hunt from Grimsby Town and Trinity manager Peter Swann enthused to the Lincolnshire Echo that:
"They (Moses and Hunt) don't just want to come here to see out their careers, they are coming here to try to achieve something."

Gainsborough endured a mixed 2008-09 season as a series of draws and defeats during 2009 saw Trinity end the season in the bottom half of the table.
