Chat About Online Poker
12th June 2009
Are you a regular online poker player? If so, then you
might be interested to know that Sky Poker, the first
multiplatform poker room, has added a social networking
area to its website that enables its community of players
to stay in touch, share stories and keep up to date.
One of the main features is the launch of Sky
Pokers forums. The forums are split into sections
General Poker, The Sky Poker TV
Channel and The Sky Poker UK Tour
so players can chat about issues most relevant to
them. As part of the social network, players can also
create a profile page with their photo, update their
friends list and leave messages for other players.
One of the things we hear most frequently from our
players, whether it be on TV, online or at our live
events, is that they love the friendly, community feel of
Sky Poker, said Emma Crowe, head of marketing at
Sky Poker. The launch of this new social network,
especially the forums, will allow the players to keep in
contact more easily, which will only strengthen the
community and make it more welcoming to new players, for
whom the world of poker forums can be somewhat
intimidating.
Players can enter the Sky Poker social network by
clicking on the community link on the
homepage of www.skypoker.com. From there players can update
their profile pages to give information about themselves,
how they rate their poker and their best poker moment.
The profile page also shows a players recent forum
posts and blog comments.
Sky Poker will also be running competitions, including a
weekly caption contest where Sky Poker goodies can be won
for the best caption submitted for the picture of the
week.
Presently Sky Poker have a series of special offers when
you sign up to play. Click Sky Poker to visit their website.
