Last month, TFI reported that former Lincoln City
favourite Simon Weaver had been appointed manager of
Harrogate Town in a shock move.
Weaver has been thrown in at the deep end in his first
managerial post as the majority of Harrogate Town's
2008/09 season's squad has departed the club. In his
search for new players, Weaver has quickly enlisted the
services of Matt Bloomer, who is another former Lincoln
City player; the pair were part of Lincoln City's
regular, albeit unsuccessful, play-off campaigns under
Keith Alexander.
Bloomer, who can play practically anywhere on pitch,
except goalkeeper, was a vital squad player at Lincoln
between the years of 2002 to 2006. Unfortunately, despite
making over 100 appearances for The Imps, he could never
really cement a permanent first team place at Sincil
Bank.
Weaver has also signed goalkeeper John Lamb (Ossett
Town), attacking midfielder Dave McTiernan (Newcastle
Blue Star), left-sided player Leon Scott (Whitby Town) as
well as Bloomer.
