Several former Lincoln City FC players are in the news
today after joining new clubs.
The most recognisable one if Paul Mayo who has signed for
Corby Town. Mayo made almost made 200 appearances for
Lincoln during a near eight year career that spanned two
spells at Sincil Bank. For a more detailed look at Paul
Mayo's career, click here.
Next is central defender James Dudgeon who played for
Lincoln City during the 2000/01 season. Dudgeon impressed
many Imps' supporters during his time on loan from
Barnsley and was tipped for greatness in the professional
game. Unfortunately, illness took its toll on Dudgeon and
he dropped out of the professional ranks. He ended last
season on the books of Wakefield of the UniBond First
Division North.
This week, Dudgeon has joined Ilkeston Town. For a more

The other former Imp is Matt Birley who spent a couple of
months on loan at Lincoln from Birmingham City during the
2006/07 season. Birley has joined King's Lynn after
leaving Tamworth, who he helped to win the Conference
North Divisional title last season.
