Lincoln City might be out of this season's League Cup but
their memory from years gone by lives on!
The Football League has complied a list of the 50 golden
League Cup moments, as nominated by fans; these will now
compete for the honour of being voted the greatest League
Cup moment of all time. This is where you, the Lincoln
City fanbase come in, for The Imps have been selected in
the top 50.
The golden moment comes from the 1975/76 season when
Lincoln City defeated Stoke City at Sincil Bank via a 2-1
score line. At the time, Lincoln were managed by Graham
Taylor and were in the midst of arguably their most
successful season ever. Meanwhile, Stoke had been crowned
League Cup winners just three years earlier.
