Terry Fleming was signed for Lincoln City from Preston by John Beck for £20,000 in December 1995 following an initial loan period. His "never-say-die" attitude earnt him many fans and several player awards whilst at the Lincoln.

1998/99 season was perhaps the best spell of his career which saw him rewarded with the captaincy of the side. This improved his discipline both on and off the field after a series of incidents, including being arrested for assault.

In February 2000 he was given a second chance to play international football for St. Lucia. Fleming in 1999, had turned the same opportunity down and regretted it. In the end though, St. Lucia decided against calling him up thus avoiding a club versus country row.

Terry left Lincoln in June 2000 following a contractual row related to a wage cut proposal, and he joined Plymouth Argyle. His time in Devon was short and he was freed in March 2000 to rejoin Beck at Cambridge United.

After leaving Cambridge, he spent the 2004/05 season at Grimsby Town. He has now drifted into the Conference division, where he played for Kidderminster Harriers alongside former ex-Imp Michael Blackwood.

Craig Stones shares the distinction of being one of only a few Lincoln born players to make The Imps' first team squad during the 1990's. A product of the youth team, he made his Football League debut in April 1997 although he was unable to hold down a regular place.

Several excellent reserve displays appeared to show that Stones was a player for the future, that opinion though was not shared by everyone. With limited first team opportunities, he joined non-league Grantham Town in April 2000 on loan. It was announced later that month, by then chairman John Reames, that Stones would be leaving Lincoln on a free transfer at the end of the 1999/2000 season, after the club decided against offering him a new contract.

Stones, since leaving Lincoln City FC, has drifted between several Lincolnshire non-league clubs.

Michael Blackwood signed after he impressed as a trialist for Lincoln City FC in their 3-0 victory at neighbours Lincoln United in July 2004. Blackwood became a free agent following the unfortunate demise of Telford United FC, hence no fee was involved.

A left-sided utility player, he can play anywhere on the left, i.e. left-back, midfield or more usually as a striker. Lincoln succeeded in beating off competition from then newly relegated League One club Walsall, who had also given Blackwood a trial.

Blackwood began his career as a trainee at Aston Villa in August 1998 but left in June 2000 without making an appearance. During his time at Aston Villa, he made 9 appearances on loan at Chester City, scoring 2 goals. After leaving Villa, he signed for Wrexham where he made 50 appearances and scored 2 goals in his two-years at the Welsh club.

In September 2002 he joined Conference club Stevenage on a free transfer where he went on to make 21 appearances and scored 2 goals before leaving to join Halesowen Town for a brief two-month stint in March 2003. The summer of 2003 saw him sign for Conference club Telford United where he became a regular in their side by playing 42 matches during his one and only season at Telford. One of those appearances was as a late substitute in Telford's LDV Trophy first round tie at Lincoln, which City won 3-1. Overall, he scored 5 goals for Telford before events off the pitch forced him to look for a new club.

Blackwood became an instant first team regular at Lincoln until he sustained an injury during his sixth game for the club. The injury kept him sidelined for several months and upon his return, he was unable to reclaim his starting place. In May 2005, Lincoln and Blackwood agreed a severance deal and he joined Kidderminster in July 2005.
