RYAN SEMPLE
Born: 4th July 1985 in Belfast.

Lincoln City career: 0+(4) appearances between July 2006 - January 2008.

Clubs: Peterborough United, Farnborough Town, Lincoln City, Chester City and Rushden & Diamonds.

Less than a month after turning 21 years of age, Ryan Semple joined Lincoln City in a shock transfer from Peterborough United.

Semple decided to leave Peterborough after fearing for his place following the appointment of former Imps' manager Keith Alexander. This coincided with a row between Lincoln City and Peterborough over the registration of ex-Imps' striker Simon Yeo.

After much fuss, it was agreed that Semple would join Lincoln for "a small fee" in exchange for Lincoln dropping their opposition to Yeo signing for Peterborough, even though Yeo was a free agent.

Semple began his career as trainee at Peterborough and went on to make made 52 appearances for United, although over half of these were as a substitute. During these 52 games, he scored three goals. His appearance figure might have been greater had he not suffered a broken leg during his time at United.

Semple also spent a brief spell on loan at non-league Farnborough during the 2003/04 season, where he scored twice in nine appearances.

Semple endured a nightmare 2006/07 season at Lincoln, which began when he sustained an injury during pre-season. Unable to force himself in the first team at Sincil Bank, he opted to join Chester City on loan. He later returned to Lincoln, but has become the forgotten man of the squad. Whether he will actually start a game for Lincoln is anyone's guess!

The answer to that was no, and he left Lincoln in January 2008 without starting a game. Earlier during the 2007/08 season, he spent a month on loan at Rushden & Diamonds.

In February 2008, Semple joined Oxford United initially on non-contract terms.

STEVE TORPEY
Born: 8th December 1970 in Islington.

Lincoln City career: 8+(6) appearances between June 2007 - January 2008.

Clubs: Millwall, Bradford City, Swansea City, Bristol City, Notts County, Scunthorpe United, Lincoln City and Farsley Celtic.

Steve Torpey joined Lincoln City in June 2007 in one of Lincoln's most controversial transfers of recent years. Many Imps' fans were shocked and disappointed by the signing of 36-year-old Torpey and immediate began questioning the ambition of the club. Only time would tell whether the faith shown in Torpey by then manager John Schofield would be repaid.

Unfortunately, time did tell but not in a good way. From the outset, Torpey was booed by a section of the Imps' crowd and the more he played, the more he was booed. In the end, it was decided that he would join Farsley Celtic on loan. Soon afterwards, Torpey's contract was terminated by mutual consent.

In 1989, Torpey began his career at Millwall as a trainee. He would make just eight appearances for Millwall before signing for Bradford City in a £70,000 transfer in November 1990. He would make 113 appearances and score 28 goals during the three years that he spent at Bradford City.

An £80,000 transfer to Swansea City followed in August 1993, and he would stay at the Vetch Field for four years. During his time there, he made 201 appearances and scored 57 goals. A £400,000 move to Bristol City followed but his time at Bristol would be mixed. During the middle of his spell at Bristol City, he was loaned out to Notts County where he scored two goals in eight appearances.

Scunthorpe United rescued Torpey in February 2000 when they paid £200,000 to Bristol City. It was at Scunthorpe when he probably made the biggest impact of his career. During his seven years at the club, he helped Scunthorpe to several promotions by scoring 76 goals in 280 appearances.

PHIL WATT
Born: .

Previous clubs: Rotherham United, Grantham Town and Corby Town.

Signed: July 2006.

Phil Watt is yet another product of two youth academies having joined Lincoln City FC from Rotherham United's youth academy.

Watt is a right-back, which is yet another position that Lincoln City are presently short of cover for. He almost made his debut in March 2006 at Carlisle United but the then Lincoln City FC manager Keith Alexander opted to juggle his professional players' positions instead.

Watt is another who appears to have considerable talent but requires more playing experience before he is ready for a lengthy run in the Lincoln City first team.

He has featured regularly for Lincoln City FC's reserves and has also spent time on loan at Grantham Town, where he played a number of matches. Watt rejoined Grantham Town on loan in August 2006. He later returned to Lincoln City and featured as an unused substitute.

Watt made his Football League debut in Lincoln City's horrific opening day of the 2007/08 season's defeat at home to Shrewsbury Town that ended 0-4. He immediately lost his place to more experienced players and in January 2008, he was placed on the transfer list. A few days later, he joined Corby Town on loan. However, in February 2008, he was released from Lincoln City by mutual consent
