Despite Jamie Hand being only 23 when he arrived at Sincil Bank, he had already been at eight clubs during his short career. However, only three of these have been permanent clubs.

Hand began his career as a trainee at Watford in 2001, going on to make 61 appearances for the Hornets. During his five years at Watford, he had loan spells at Oxford United, Livingston, Peterborough United, Huddersfield Town and Northampton Town.

Hand finally left Watford for good In May 2006 when he joined Chester City on a free transfer. He scored four goals during 51 appearances for Chester City and was a regular in their first team.

In August 2007, Chester had to lower their wage bill and quickly. This meant that Chester were amiable to Lincoln City's request to take Hand off their hands so to speak! So in August 2007, Hand joined Lincoln City on a free transfer and became former Imps' boss John Schofield's final signing of Schofield's reign.

Hand was given a first team role by Schofield, in which, he impressed at first. However, after Peter Jackson took over in October 2007, Hand found himself used mainly in a substitute's role by Jackson.

In a surprise move, Lincoln allowed Hand to rejoin Oxford United on a month's loan in February 2008. He returned two months later but in May 2008, he cancelled his contract at Lincoln City by mutual consent.

In July 2008, Hand joined Conference club Ebbsfleet United on non-contract terms. He was a regular in their side but departed the club in February 2009 for personal reasons.

Ryan Amoo was an unknown quantity when he joined Lincoln City FC in Junly 2006. Prior to this, his main claim to fame was as a former boyfriend of the late reality television "star" Jade Goody. The pair dated for six months before splitting up.

His football career had not made the headlines although he was a member of Aston Villa's winning FA Youth Cup of 2002. Still only 22-years of age when he joined The Imps, Amoo was keen to return to the professional game after a year away. He was released from his last professional club - Northampton Town - in June 2005, just one year after joining them from Aston Villa.

Amoo made just one substitute appearance for Aston Villa. Unfortunately, he faired little better at Northampton where he started two matches plus played in a further three as a substitute.

While at Northampton, Amoo - who can play in either central defence, central midfield or as an attacking midfielder - worked alongside then Lincoln City's Director of Football John Deehan. Amoo arrived on trial at Lincoln in July 2006 and impressed sufficiently to earn a one year contract.

Amoo spent the 2005/06 season playing playing for Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division club Barrow Town.

Despite being classed a defender, Amoo has played mainly in midfield for Lincoln City and played quite well at first. However, towards the end of the 2006/07 season, he came in for severe criticism from a section of supporters regarding his performances. This though, did not stop Amoo from extending his contract for a further two years to June 2009.

This proved a mistake for Lincoln City FC as in May 2008, he cancelled his contract by mutual consent after falling out of favour with new Imps' boss Peter Jackson. This was probably the right decision for all parties as a first team recall looked a long way off.

Amoo opted to drop considerably down the football pyramid when he elected to join Midland Alliance club Barwell in summer 2008. He stayed at Barwell until March 2009 when he returned to Lincolnshire to sign for Stamford.

Lincoln City career: 101 appearances and 37 goals between March 2006 - June 2008.

Former Leeds United striker Jamie Forrester originally joined Lincoln City on a month's loan from Bristol Rovers in March 2006. This was later extended following negotiations between all three parties that resulted in Forrester agreeing a permanent transfer to Lincoln. However, because of the transfer deadline, the transfer could not be officially processed until July 1st 2006. Forrester was originally signed as cover for the injured Simon Yeo.

Forrester has an impressive pedigree having been a trainee at French club Auxerre. The Bradford born player returned home to West Yorkshire in October 1992 when Leeds United signed him for £60,000.

During the three years that he spent at Leeds, he scored two goals in eleven appearances. During his time at Leeds, he also had spells on loan at both Southend United and Grimsby Town.

Grimsby elected to make Forrester's loan move a permanent transfer in October 1995 when they signed him on a free transfer. Overall, he scored 10 goals in 56 appearances for Grimsby.

In March 1997, he signed for Scunthorpe United, and this is when he made his name as a prolific goal scorer. From the 121 appearances that he made for Scunthorpe, he scored 43 appearances.

Goal scoring figures such as these are quickly noticed and in June 1999, he made another move abroad when he signed for Dutch club FC Utrecht. His stay in Holland was just one season before he returned to England to sign for Northampton Town in a £150,000 deal. During his season in Holland, he had also spent time on loan at both Walsall Town and Northampton Town.

Forrester scored 50 goals in 136 appearances for Northampton - including an impressive six goals during his ten loan games - before he left in January 2003 to join Hull City. Eighteen months later, and he was on the move again, when he signed for Bristol Rovers. He had scored 8 goals in 34 appearances for Hull City.

Having joined Bristol Rovers in July 2004, he quickly became a regular in their first team. However, he later endured mixed fortunes, making just seven appearances made during 2006. In his time at Bristol Rovers, he scored 11 goals in 57 appearances.

Forrester quickly proved a Lincoln City FC's fans' favourite, as he is very skilful and shows intelligent use of the ball. The prediction that he would benefit enormously if then manager John Schofield succeeded in his desire to play a more passing style, proved correct, as Forrester finished the 2006/07 season as Lincoln City FC's leading goalscorer with 18 goals.

Forrester had a mixed 2007/08 season but even then, he managed to score 12 league goals to help Lincoln beat off relegation. His goals persuaded Lincoln to offer him a new contract and all the indications were that he would sign. However, in June 2008, Forrester made the shock move to Notts County under the Bosman ruling after rejecting Lincoln's contract offer.

It was a difficult 2008-09 season for Forrester as he found goals hard to come by for Notts County. After just one season at Notts County, the club opted to release Forrester in May 2009. In somewhat of a coup, Forrester opted to play non-league football at Lincoln United when he signed for The Whites in August 2009.
