1989 in London. Previous club: Gratham Town.
Signed: December
2007.
Lenell John-Lewis
began his career as a youth team player at
Grantham Town. He made just four appearances for
Lincoln City before he was signed by Lincoln City
as a trainee. It was while he was still a trainee
that he made his first team Lincoln City FC debut
in November 2006. However, he had to wait another
year before making another first team appearance.
This time,
John-Lewis made a significant impact on the first
team, which persuaded Imps' boss Peter Jackson to
offer him professional terms until June 2010 - a
deal that John-Lewis agreed to.
With Lincoln
City's shortage of strikers for the 2007/08
season, it was thought that John-Lewis could find
himself a regular in the starting line-up before
too long. That prediction came true; however, he
was given a regular first team spot but as a
winger.
John-Lewis was
once again deployed as winger for the 2008/09
season until injury ended his season early.
Lincoln's season was one of mediocrity and
John-Lewis was one of the players criticised.
With Lincoln again short of strikers for the
2009/10 season, John-Lewis might yet be given a
chance to show whether he is a good striker or
not.
